The short answer
Dream interpretation is not prediction and not diagnosis. This article separates what sleep research observes from what popular interpretation associates with the theme.
Arriving late for something is among the most reported dream themes, alongside being chased, falling and losing teeth. The modern version is missing your flight, forgetting your luggage or losing your documents.

What changes when the trip is real
People with a trip booked dream about it more, under the continuity hypothesis: the subject fills the day and the dream reuses that material.
If the dream comes with anxiety and disturbs sleep in the days before, solving the practical side usually calms more than interpreting: documents set aside, bag packed the night before, two alarms and the route checked.
What folklore says
Popular readings link travel to change, escape or a new phase. It is harmless symbolism, as long as no real decision rests on it.
